ON the campaign trail for election this year, Barrow’s Labour MP, forcefully pushed the party line that she would “Protect the NHS!”
In a campaign video filmed outside Furness General Hospital with stirring music in the background, Michelle Scrogham over confidently promised viewers: “Our NHS needs rescuing and I’LL make sure you get the care YOU need!”
Since winning her seat, Furness General Hospital’s critical care unit has temporarily closed down and remains so, despite her letters.
Meanwhile, The Abbey View Unit, has now been shut and is being lined-up for a complete amputation.
So what does Michelle, our self-styled “NHS rescuer”, plan to do to reverse this shocking state of affairs in local health services?
Er, flip open the laptop and fire off ANOTHER letter to hospital trust bosses, of course!
Result? The waste paper basket.
This reliance on letters is much the same approach of the former Conservative MP for the area, Simon Fell, one of politics’ invisible men.
So much for Labour “saving” the NHS and so much for Michelle being an MP of “action, not words”.
Anyone with half a brain cell knows that the blundering NHS operates as a law entirely to itself.
MPs making bold claims about having any power over it are strongly advised to keep taking the tablets and should not be approached by the public.
