Management and councillors on the authority’s top secret “Staffing Committee” have been discussing the recruitment process for some time.

All behind closed doors and far from the critical eyes of Press & Public, of course!

Councils use half-a-century-old Town Hall secrecy laws to legally lock out the Plebs from these cross-party meetings.

They often take great relish in expelling anyone who accidentally turns up wanting to know where their public money goes!

To find the “right” dull technocrat, the Council has also been paying THOUSANDS to a headhunting firm with plush offices in London and Birmingham.

The matchmaking company is called Penna which schmoozes its wealthy Public Sector clients with words that read like a needy dating profile . . . .

Why the frig does the Council need to “double-spend” on a HR department if all the legwork is done by Penna?

W&F has also been going to the market on the hunt for a new Deputy Monitoring Officer paid up to £81,000 per annum.

The top of our Councils are always going to need another droid to say “strategic alignment” without gulping.
