TORIES SLAM FARRON FOR CARING

CRUMBRIA: 29/08/2025

THE Tories in Wokemoreland have gone off half-cocked by accusing Lib Dem Tim Farron of the unpardonable crime of noticing what’s happening.

Farron’s offence was to criticise the Labour government and point out what the National Insurance hike is doing to Cumbrian businesses.

This triggered a public rebuke from Kendal hotel boss James Alexander, chair of the local Conservative group.

“Do we really need our MP stoking the fires and reminding people of the Government’s many failings?” Mr Alexander asked.

Er, yeah!

He waved Tim’s concerns away as “doom-mongering” and suggested Farron try being “more pro-enterprise”.

This apparently means pretending higher taxes by the new Labour Government don’t exist.

It was a strange intervention. An MP raises constituent concerns, and a publicly unelected Conservative tells him to stop?

You do wonder if this irritation has been quietly fermenting — possibly since Farron kept mentioning the filthy state of Lake Windermere, which does rather clash with the immaculate tourism brochure version of the Lakes.

“I wandered lonely as a turd,” etc.

If Westmorland Tories are desperate for something useful to do, they might try proofreading.

One of their leaflets currently advertises local council elections as taking place in 2026.

They’re in 2027.
