THE Very Rev, Saint Timothy of Farron, tweeted for many in Cumbria this week after Tuesday’s horrific crash on the M6.
The MP – who God prays to every day – wrote on X that the collision was “beyond heartbreaking”.
Heartbreaking has long been one of Tim’s “go-to” words, so to go beyond heartbreaking is new territory for him.
In parliament alone this year, the MP for Wilderness and Loonsdale has used the word “heartbreaking” five times.
The Cumbria Chronic has had a little look back at some of the other issues that have shattered Tim’s fragile ticker.
- Millwall having to move football grounds (2017)
- Child poverty figures (2018)
- The cost of food (2022)
- Crashes on the A590 (2023)
- The planning system (2022)
- Flooding (2024)
- Farmers losing their farms (2024)
- Refugee homelessness (2024)
- Mental health (2023)
- The NHS during Covid (2020)
- Asylum seeker deaths (2023)
- The lack of housing (2022)
- The lack of a radiotherapy unit in Kendal (2022)
- The abundance of second homes (2022)
- Illegal immigration (2020)
- Climate change (2021)
- Storm Desmond (2019)

By every possible measure, Tim is not a bleeding-heart Liberal, but a breaking-heart Liberal.
