NO mention then of the resignation of Huw Edwards on the increasingly juvenile BBC Radio Crumbria?
The 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5 ‘o Clock news in Cumbria all forgot to report the bombshell announcement that the corporation’s flagship and highest-paid news presenter was stepping down after 40 years, following claims he paid a 17-year-old for explicit photos.
However, one sex scandal did manage to force its way onto the ‘Cumbria news’ bulletins…the opening day trial in New York of Donald Trump who faces claims of paying hush money to an adult film actress.
And listeners tuned to the “Sound of Cumbria!” also heard afternoon show presenter Nish Hindocha (based in Lancashire) mithering on to a London-based TV critic about the big broadcasting story of the day…
Er, slagging off the plummeting viewing figures of prime time TV show Britain’s Got Talent on channel rivals ITV.
