CRUMBRIA: 01.10.2025
DESPITE predictions that the introduction of digital ID cards might prove a Poll Tax ‘moment’ for Keirnocchio’s Government, signatures calling for it to be scrapped are dwindling.
Despite public support for digital ID cards plunging to minus 14 per cent since the announcement, many assume the fight is already won.
It’s not!
So far, a “piss poor” 3.2% of people in Westmorland & Lonsdale have signed. That’s only 3,880 people from a possible 118,000!
Whitehaven & Wokeington has the highest number of signatories in Crumbria. Yet just 5,346 have bothered from 93,000 adults (5.7%).
Carlisle: 5,325 signatures from 103,000 people (5.1%).
Barrow & Furness: 4,788 signatures from 97,400 people (4.9%).
Penrith & Solway: 4,441 from 97,200 people (4.5%).
It all adds up to just over 23,000 from a possible half a million.
It looks like your friends and rellies are sleepwalking into a Blair-backed dystopian nightmare.
It’s no surprise to us that the Digital ID story broke right before the Labour Conference, when it would be quickly drowned out by other Government announcements.
A good day to bury bad news?
Sign the petition and show Starmer you won’t be a Blair barcode.
