CRUMBRIA: 04.08.2025: EXCLUSIVE
I AM informed that Barrow’s Forum AND Market could be BULLDOZED!
The landmark block in the town centre could be levelled if the go-ahead is given in autumn.
The out-of-the-blue idea comes from Wokemoreland and Farcical Clowncil and steps are already under way.

That’s despite them having spaffed untold THOUSANDS of pounds on asbestos removal and other works.
With millions pouring into the town, it’s estimated demolition would cost an astonishing £5 million.
Money the Council is never likely to have again for knocking stuff down and doing a rebuild.
Regeneration dreamers are calling it a “transformational opportunity” because of what might be rebuilt in its place.
It all depends on a decision to be made in October by high-ranking Lib Dem councillors in Kendal, but they’re acting dead keen.
The Lib Dem Council leader last week gave the nod for a Council tender to go out to find a “design and demolition contractor”.
In the cart before the horse way that the public sector operates, the Council will identify a contractor capable of doing the job FIRST and then make a decision LATER!
The deadline for contractors to make their interest known is just a month away.
Three options could end up on the Council’s top table in October – “demolition, partial demolition or retention of the site”.
The council may also decide NOT to go-ahead with demolition.
You can bet that a plan to demolish Kendal’s Westmorland Shopping Centre and its Brewery Arts Centre would never see the light of day because of the uproar it would cause among the town’s grey fleece brigade!
Expect the Evening Snail to rock up to the story when it’s been shared everywhere!
