REFORM WRONG ON BARROW MP

REFORM Barrow has been rewriting history.

In an article for the Evening Snail, the local branch has been shooting its mouth off about Barrow MP Michelle Scrogerm and W&F Council.

The local branch of the Nigel Farage Fan Club (President: N. Farage) has tried to pin the blame for the loss of Barrow Borough Council on the Labour MP.

In a statement blazing with fire and brimstone, Reform Barrow told The Snail:

“Ms Scrogham… has been a prominent local political figure throughout this entire transition, serving as a leading face of the very political establishment that willingly handed over Barrow’s independent controls to a remote administration three years ago…”

While the MP and self-styled ‘NHS saviour’ may be partial to the occasional blunder, the basket case of Wokemoreland & Farcical Clowncil is not one of them.

As any fule no, the bonfire of Crumbria’s local councils was announced in 2021 — under a Tory Government and a sitting Tory MP for Barrow, Simon Fell.

The W&F ‘shadow authority’ was operating from 2022 — two years before Scrogerm was a twinkle in Keirnocchio’s eye.

Even the massed ranks of Labour councillors from the People’s Republik of Barrovia had their hands tied. Barrow Council was being abolished by an Act of Parliament.

That didn’t stop them trying.

The Labour leadership of Cumbria County Council, on which many of them sat, launched a legal challenge against the Council carve-up.

So Reform’s apparent suggestion that Barrow now needs some form of Council of its own is a conversation it may wish to have rather closer to home.

Because the Tory minister who officially wielded the axe over Cumbria’s councils in July 2021 — including Barrow’s — was a certain smoothie called Robert Jenrick MP.
